What I learned
❖ There are two types of mixtures – a homogeneous mixture and a heterogeneous mixture.
❖ The salinity of water pools varies and depends on the amount of dissolved salts in it. It changes depending on the temperature and depth.
❖ Salinity affects the habitability of any water body. We distinguish between freshwater, marine and brackish habitats. All of them are habitable but by different organisms.
❖ Based on information from interactive maps and graphs, research can be done on water salinity in different regions and for different time periods, as well as predictions for the ocean and atmosphere.
❖ I learned new concepts: halocline, osmotic stress, and brackish habitats.
