What I learned

❖ A chemical substance is a material with a definite and constant chemical structure. Chemical substances differ in their properties (physical and chemical), which determine how they behave and interact with other substances. These substances are all around us, including in the air we breathe, the water we drink, the food we eat, etc. In addition to the harmless and beneficial ones, there are many dangerous substances out there, some of which we keep in our homes.

❖ Regardless of whether these materials are meant for cooking, cleaning, handling equipment, etc., we should always handle them with caution. Always read the label to get information on how to store the item, what NOT to do with it (exposure to heat or getting close to fire), what conditions to avoid (e.g., those with high pressure/high temperature), and what the countermeasures are if something happens.

❖  These chemicals help us in various aspects of life, but we must always be careful with them, use them wisely and responsibly, store them properly and dispose of them in the designated places. Only in this way will we limit their negative impact on the environment and preserve ecosystems.
