- Take the role of an astrologer and make your forecast for the day/week by making a short “chemical horoscope” of a chemical element, chemical compound, group in the periodic table or period in the periodic table.
- Your “chemical horoscope” should contain the characteristics of that chemical element (chemical compound, group in the periodic table, period in the periodic table), and relate them to the “character traits” it exhibits so that it is clear who it is about. For example: characteristic physical and chemical properties, the element’s place in the periodic table, chemical character, and make the prediction for the day/week.
Sample horoscope of the element sodium:
“If you’re sodium, you’ll be active and explosive today, but be careful – don’t use water to avoid trouble!”
- Will work in groups. Look at your group number to see whose horoscope you will have to work out.
- You have 10 minutes to write your horoscope. Use both scientific facts and creativity.
