What I learned
❖ The periodic table has enormous significance for science. It can be used to explain chemical reactions and even to predict properties of elements not yet discovered.
❖ The chemical elements are arranged in the periodic table according to the number of protons in their atomic nuclei, according to their properties and according to the periodic law.
❖ The properties of elements are periodically dependent on the number of protons in the nuclei of their atoms.
❖ The periodic table consists of periods, groups and cells.
❖ There are seven periods in the periodic table – three minor and four major.
❖ The number of groups in the classical version of the periodic system is 8, each divided into a main and a secondary, and in the long-period version, the number of groups is 18.
❖ The chemical horoscope for a chemical element, compound, group, or period is related to its “character traits” (properties, place in the periodic system, chemical character, physical and chemical properties, etc.).
❖ Knowing the place of the elements in the periodic system helps us understand and predict not only their properties but also the properties of their chemical compounds.
