What I learned
❖ Water is a vital resource that ensures the well-being and survival of all life forms on Earth. It is needed for drinking, cooking, irrigating plants, generating electricity and many other activities. Unfortunately, the water resources are threatened by pollution, clean water shortages and climate change.
❖ We need to take decisive steps to conserve it to survive and protect our health; we need to take conscious and systematic care of the environment to avoid endangering the planet’s biodiversity. Each of us can contribute to water conservation through small but daily actions, such as:
- not wasting water (e.g. turning off the tap while brushing your teeth)
- not pouring water for no reason
- using water-saving appliances
- fixing leaks in the home
- not using drinking water to water crops
- does not pollute water resources with chemicals and waste
- takes part in cleaning up polluted areas in their settlement, etc.
❖ When each of us is part of the solution to conserve and purify water resources, then we will ensure a future where we and future generations will not be thirsty for clean water, the most precious thing in the world.
Let us not forget – water is the source of life!
What will happen if water resources run out – the possible answers will make us make better and responsible decisions.
