Activity 1. Bicycle parts and their functions
Modern bicycles have different parts but are not as complex as cars. The main ones are the frame, wheels, tyres, seat/saddle, steering, transmission and brakes. This general simplicity allowed the first bicycle manufacturers to create reliable and easy-to-use designs for different types of bicycles.
- Look carefully at the diagram and familiarise yourself with the parts of the classic bicycle.

- Explain the functions of the different parts of the bicycle.
- Solve the interactive exercise. Match the names of the bicycle parts with the correct place on the diagram.
