Activity 1. Energy debate
You are about to take part in a debate on Energy of the Future: How can we provide clean and affordable energy for all?
For this, you will need to split into two teams and conduct a self-study at home beforehand.
- Do your own research on the advantages and disadvantages of using energy from non-renewable and renewable energy resources. Familiarise yourself with the tasks for your team as described in the corresponding worksheet.
- Record the characteristics of the energy type according to the criteria given in the worksheet. Use the online sources listed in the worksheet or others of your choice.
- Discuss the results of the survey with the team, draw conclusions and fill in an overall table to present during the debate.
- Select a keynote speaker to defend the team’s thesis in the debate. The others are allowed to add to and express their opinions. It is important to respect the pre-arranged time for presentations and speeches.
