What I learned
❖ Green energy is important for our future. It will be an increasingly key factor in our lives because it not only offers an alternative to traditional energy sources, but also promises a cleaner and more sustainable natural environment for the planet.
❖ Green energy comes from renewable energy sources such as the sun, wind, water and biomass. Unlike energy derived from fossil fuels, these sources do not release greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, limit global warming and provide a cleaner environment.
❖ The most important environmental benefits of using green energy are:
- It does not generate harmful emissions that negatively affect climate change, cause acid rain, smog and health problems
- It uses inexhaustible natural sources of energy
- Limits the extraction of fossil fuels, the reserves of which are limited
- It produces less waste than traditional energy sources
- Helping to keep the planet clean and sustainable for future generations
❖ More significant economic benefits are:
- Stimulating innovation and technology for different sectors of the economy
- Creation of new jobs
- Ensuring national energy independence and security
- Reducing maintenance costs after the initial investment
❖ Above all, the social benefits for society are:
- Significantly improve the cleanliness of the air, water, soil, leading to a better quality of life
- Development of education and science, acquisition of new skills and competences
- Support municipal and regional communities by implementing local green energy projects
- Sustainable development that impacts on poverty reduction and improved health
❖ Green energy offers many opportunities for development – it can be used not only to generate electricity, but also in everyday life.
❖ Despite the significant benefits of green energy, there remain challenges that humanity must address. Here are the most significant ones:
- Time dependence of renewable energy sources and the related problem of storage of this energy
- High upfront costs for building infrastructure and a functional energy grid
- Need to integrate different energy sources into an efficient energy mix
- The need for rapid developments in science and technology to make green energy increasingly affordable and efficient
- Develop clear long-term policies to implement the green energy transition
- Reaching international agreements and cooperation to create an integrated green energy market
- Information provision and building citizens’ confidence in the energy transition
❖ Green energy not only offers solutions to some of the most pressing global problems, such as climate change and pollution, but also gives us the opportunity to build a reliable energy future, a more sustainable and just society.
It is important to realise that every small action towards renewable energy is a step towards a cleaner and healthier world. Together we can make the green transition of the future!
